About Citi

Citi, the consumer brand of Citigroup, is one of the largest banks in the US and a major credit card issuer worldwide. In the US, Citibank offers checking and savings accounts that tie into relationship tiers: the more you keep with Citi, the more fees are waived and the better the perks. Its basic Access Checking and Regular Checking carry monthly service fees that can be waived with direct deposits or balances, and Citi does not charge overdraft fees. Customers get fee-free cash at a large network of branches and partner ATMs. Citi is perhaps better known for cards such as Double Cash, Custom Cash and Strata, which earn cash back or ThankYou points. Everything runs through the Citi Mobile app and Citibank Online. It suits people who want a big bank with international reach and a broad card line-up. People with small balances will find the monthly fees and tier rules more complicated than at online banks.

Best for: US customers who want branches, international reach and a broad range of credit cards.
