About Dataiku
Dataiku is a shared workspace where analysts, data scientists and engineers build data pipelines, machine learning models and, more recently, LLM-based agents in one place. Work is laid out as a visual Flow: datasets are joined and cleaned with point-and-click recipes or with Python, R and SQL code, then fed into AutoML or custom models that can be deployed as APIs or batch jobs. It connects to warehouses and lakes such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift and S3, and pushes heavy work down to SQL, Spark or Kubernetes rather than moving data around. Governance features track lineage, approvals and model drift, which is why it is mostly bought by large regulated companies. Pricing is quote-based and aimed at enterprises; there is a 14-day hosted trial and a downloadable Free Edition you can install yourself on Linux or Mac. It runs in the browser, either as Dataiku Cloud or on your own servers.
Best for: Large organisations that want analysts and data scientists working on the same governed platform.

Pros and cons
What works
- Visual recipes and full code (Python, R, SQL) live side by side in one project
- Pushes computation down to existing warehouses and Spark instead of copying data
- Built-in lineage, approvals and model monitoring for regulated teams
Why people leave
- No public price list; enterprise contracts only after the trial
- Heavy platform that is overkill for one person cleaning a spreadsheet
- Native Windows install is only experimental
