About Deliveroo
Deliveroo is a delivery marketplace founded in London in 2013 to bring food from restaurants that didn't offer delivery themselves. Riders collect orders and bring them to your door, and the app lets you track them. Since 2018 it has added grocery delivery from supermarket partners, and it now also lists pharmacies, pet shops, florists and other local stores. Ordering is free; you pay menu prices plus delivery and service fees. The Deliveroo Plus membership gives free delivery and lower service fees above an order value, and a lower tier is available through partners such as Amazon Prime. There are also offers for workplaces (Deliveroo for Work), students and gifting. Deliveroo operates in a handful of countries rather than worldwide, so it is mainly a choice for people in the UK, Ireland and the other markets it serves. As with every delivery app, fees and minimum order values make it pricier than collecting food yourself.
