About FluidVoice
FluidVoice is a dictation app for the Mac that turns speech into text in whatever app has focus. You hold a hotkey, talk, and the text is typed into the current field, whether that is email, chat, a document or a terminal. Transcription runs locally using a choice of speech models, including NVIDIA Parakeet, Whisper and Apple's own speech engine, and a small on-device language model then cleans up filler words, casing and formatting. You can set a different tone per app, so a Slack message comes out casual and an email more formal. Cloud post-processing through OpenAI, Groq or a custom provider is optional rather than required. It is aimed at developers, writers and anyone who wants Wispr Flow-style dictation without sending audio to a server. The app is free with no paid tiers and the source is on GitHub under GPLv3. It needs macOS 15 or later; Windows and iPhone versions are in beta, with Linux and Android on a waitlist.
Best for: Mac users who want fast, private system-wide dictation without a subscription.
