About GCash

GCash is a mobile wallet and finance app from the Philippines, run by Mynt, a company backed by Globe, Ant Group and Ayala. It started in 2004 as a mobile money service and is now the default way many Filipinos pay without cash. In the app people send money to other users and to bank accounts, pay by scanning QR codes in shops, buy prepaid mobile load, settle bills with a long list of billers, and pay online. On top of payments it bundles savings, credit and loans (GSave, GCredit, GLoan and the GGives instalment plan), insurance, investment funds, local stocks and crypto. The app is free to open and use for most everyday payments, with fees on some cash-in, cash-out and transfer routes. It is built for Philippine numbers and residents, though Filipinos abroad can use an overseas version. Its main local rival is Maya.

Best for: People in the Philippines who want one app for QR payments, transfers, bills and small loans.
