About Gcore

Gcore is a Luxembourg-based edge cloud provider. Its CDN caches static and dynamic content across more than 210 points of presence and comes with a free monthly allowance, after which bandwidth is billed per gigabyte in euros with discounts at higher volumes. Around the CDN it sells DDoS protection, a web application firewall, bot management and API security, plus DNS, object storage, edge compute with WebAssembly, video streaming, and GPU cloud and inference services for AI workloads. It is popular with gaming companies, streaming services and businesses that want a European provider. Compared with Cloudflare it charges by traffic rather than flat plans, and compared with Bunny.net it offers a much wider security and compute catalogue. Everything is managed through a web control panel and API, and it can sit in front of any hosting provider.

Best for: Gaming, streaming and EU-focused businesses wanting a usage-priced CDN with DDoS protection.

Pros and cons

What works

  • 1 TB of CDN traffic free every month
  • Simple per-GB pricing with volume discounts
  • Large DDoS filtering capacity and built-in WAAP
  • GPU cloud and AI inference from the same provider

Why people leave

  • Usage billing makes monthly costs less predictable than flat plans
  • Smaller developer community and fewer tutorials than Cloudflare
  • Broad product catalogue can be confusing for simple sites
