About Horos
Horos is a free, open-source DICOM viewer for the Mac, built from the open-source OsiriX code base and other medical imaging libraries. It gives clinicians, students and researchers a full workstation: a study database, PACS query and retrieve, 2D reading with measurements and annotations, multiplanar reconstruction and 3D volume and surface rendering. Because it shares its roots with OsiriX, the layout and workflow will feel familiar to anyone who used that app. It is released under the LGPL 3.0 at no cost and is not sold as a certified diagnostic device. It runs only on macOS, so Windows and Linux users need another viewer. The project's release pace is slower than some commercial tools, so check that the current build supports your macOS version before relying on it.
Best for: Mac users who want a free OsiriX-style DICOM workstation.
