About InfiniPaint

InfiniPaint is a drawing and note-taking app built around one big canvas with no zoom limit in either direction, so you can sketch something the size of a solar system and still add tiny details. It can be used solo like a normal sketchbook or shared through online lobbies where others draw with you. It supports graphics tablets with pressure-sensitive brushes and eraser detection, layers with blend modes, saved colour palettes, text boxes, selection and shape tools, bookmarks for jumping around the canvas, and inserting images and files. A screenshot tool exports any area as a picture. InfiniPaint is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 licence. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android (in beta), and there is a web version that needs a WebGL2 browser, though the developers suggest the native app for the best experience. It is an early-version project, inspired by Lorien.

Best for: Sketchers and note-takers who want an endless, zoomable canvas with pen-tablet support.

Pros and cons

Why people leave

  • Early version numbers; the web version is flagged as possibly buggy
