About Jaikoz
Jaikoz is a paid music tagger from JThink for macOS, Windows and Linux. It looks up your tracks in the MusicBrainz and Discogs databases and uses AcoustID audio fingerprints, so it can identify songs even when the files have no tags at all. Results are shown in a spreadsheet-style grid where you can edit many files at once, and it adds artwork, genres and detailed metadata, with extra handling for classical music's composers, works and performers. Other tools rename files and folders from tags, find duplicate tracks, spot missing tracks on albums and run a configurable auto-correcter. It reads and writes FLAC, AIFF, WAV, DSF, MP4/M4A, Ogg, MP3 and WMA. A free trial is available before buying. JThink's sister product SongKong is the fully automatic version for people who don't want to review edits. Jaikoz suits collectors with large, messy libraries who want automatic matching but still want to check each change by hand.
Best for: Collectors with large, poorly tagged libraries who want automatic matching plus manual review.
Pros and cons
What works
- Identifies untagged songs by audio fingerprint via AcoustID
- Uses both MusicBrainz and Discogs for matching
- Spreadsheet-style editing across many files at once
- Good handling of classical music metadata
Why people leave
- Paid, while MusicBrainz Picard and Kid3 are free
- Busy, dense interface that takes time to learn
- Overlaps with JThink's own SongKong, which can be confusing
