About Kid3

Kid3 is an audio tagger built for editing whole albums without retyping the same details for every track. It handles ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags in MP3 files and converts between their versions, and it also edits tags in FLAC, Ogg, Opus, MP4/AAC, WMA, WAV, AIFF, Matroska and many other formats. It can generate tags from file names and file names from tags, create folders and playlists, fix capitalisation, and import album data from MusicBrainz, Discogs, gnudb and other sources. It also edits synchronised lyrics and imports or exports LRC files. For automation there's a command-line version plus QML/JavaScript and D-Bus scripting. Kid3 is part of the KDE family, free and GPL-licensed, and runs on Linux (with or without KDE), Windows, macOS and Android. The interface is dense and functional rather than pretty, and it has no audio fingerprinting for completely untagged files.

Best for: Linux and cross-platform users who want detailed, free control over music tags.
