About memoQ
memoQ is a Hungarian computer-assisted translation suite used by freelance translators, agencies and corporate language departments. memoQ translator pro is the desktop editor for individual linguists, with translation memory, termbases, machine translation plugins, quality assurance, LiveDocs for reusing reference documents, and broad file-format support. For teams, memoQ TMS adds project management, shared resources and web-based translation, and can run in memoQ's cloud, on a private server or on-premise. Pricing is by subscription: translator pro is billed annually per licence, with a free trial, while team plans are licensed per project manager seat with linguist subscriptions included and cost a few thousand euros a year. Many translators find it more approachable than Trados and it reads Trados files well. It is still a complex professional tool, and the desktop editor runs only on Windows.
Best for: Freelance translators and language teams wanting a capable CAT tool and optional on-premise server.
