About Narakeet
Narakeet converts text into voiceover audio and turns slide decks or Markdown scripts into narrated videos. You paste a script or upload a Word, PDF or EPUB file, pick one of several hundred synthetic voices across about 100 languages and accents, and download an audio file. For video, it takes PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote decks and uses the speaker notes as narration, adding subtitles automatically; subtitle files can also be turned into timed dubbing tracks. Teachers, trainers and documentation teams use it to make lessons, training videos and product demos without recording their own voice, and developers can script video builds through its API and command-line client. There is no subscription: a free account allows a limited number of non-commercial conversions, and paid use is bought as prepaid minutes that do not expire, with lower per-minute rates on bigger packs. It runs in the browser and is made by Video Puppet Limited.
Best for: Teachers and trainers turning scripts or slide decks into narrated audio and videos.

Pros and cons
What works
- Pay-per-minute credits with no subscription and no expiry
- Turns PowerPoint and Markdown scripts straight into narrated video
- Very wide language and accent coverage
- API and command-line client for automated builds
Why people leave
- Free accounts can't be used commercially and lack the API
- No voice cloning of your own voice
- Video editing is script-driven rather than a timeline editor
