About Resemble AI
Resemble AI made its name with voice cloning and custom synthetic voices for games, media and voice agents. The company has since stopped selling its generative voice products and now concentrates on deepfake detection, watermarking and voice identity checks for businesses. Its text-to-speech work lives on as Chatterbox, a family of open models released under the MIT licence. Chatterbox can clone a voice from a few seconds of reference audio, adjust how emotional the delivery sounds, and speak more than 20 languages. You install it with pip and run it on your own GPU or server, so there are no usage fees or rate limits, but you need some Python and hardware to get good speed. Every clip carries Resemble's PerTh audio watermark. For developers who want a self-hosted voice model this is still a strong option. People who used Resemble's hosted voice studio and want a polished web app with a voice library will need to move to a commercial service.
