About Padloc
Padloc is an open-source password manager developed by MaKleSoft in Germany. Besides passwords it stores credit cards, notes with Markdown, documents and one-time password codes, all end-to-end encrypted before they reach the server, so the company can't read them. Vault items sync across apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, a web app and browser extensions. Sharing is built in: families, teams and businesses get shared vaults and groups for managing who sees what, and business plans add directory sync. The code is published under the AGPL, the service has been through several independent security audits, and you can run your own server if you don't want to use the hosted one. The hosted service has a free plan with unlimited items and devices, while paid Premium, Family, Team and Business plans add encrypted file storage and more shared vaults. It's a smaller project than Bitwarden, with a smaller community and fewer integrations.
Best for: People and small teams who want an open-source, self-hostable vault with simple sharing.
