About PixPin

PixPin is a desktop screenshot app from a Chinese developer that has become a popular Snipaste alternative. It captures windows, regions or individual UI elements with automatic edge detection, stitches scrolling pages and chats into long screenshots, and records the screen as video or GIF with annotations. Its signature feature is pinning: any capture, text, colour or file can float above your other windows like a sticky note, which helps when copying from a reference or comparing designs. Text in a screenshot or pinned image can be selected and copied thanks to on-device OCR. The annotation tools cover arrows, markers, numbered steps and mosaic blurring. PixPin is free to use without an account; a paid PixPin Pro membership adds extras such as quick pin-by-drag and recording keystrokes and clicks alongside a screen recording. It runs on Windows and macOS, with the interface available in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Best for: Windows and Mac users who want Snipaste-style pinning plus OCR and scrolling screenshots.
