About Promova

Promova is a Ukrainian-founded language app that builds a daily plan from your goals, level and available time, then mixes short lessons, vocabulary, grammar, speaking practice and feedback from an AI tutor. English is its main focus, with a growing set of other languages such as Spanish, French, German, Italian and Korean. Besides the app, Promova offers paid lessons with human tutors and group classes, so learners can move from self-study to live practice in one place. There is free content, and a subscription unlocks the full course. Compared with Duolingo it is more goal-oriented and adult-focused but has far fewer languages and a smaller community. Some users find the subscription offers pushy. It runs on iOS, Android and the web. Promova suits adults, especially English learners, who want a personalised plan and the option of human tutors later.

Best for: Adult English learners who want a personalised plan plus optional human tutors.
