About Sitecore

Sitecore is a long-established enterprise content and digital experience platform used by large brands for complex, multi-market websites. Its traditional product, Sitecore Experience Platform, combined a .NET CMS with customer data and personalisation; its current direction, branded SitecoreAI, is a cloud SaaS platform that bundles headless content management, a visual page builder, personalisation, search, content hub and AI agents for marketing teams. Implementations are usually done by specialist partners, and customers are typically global companies with big marketing budgets. The strengths are depth: multi-site and multilingual management, personalisation and analytics in one vendor. The downsides are cost, long and expensive implementations, a confusing product history with several platform shifts, and the need for certified developers. Pricing is quote-based, with no public prices or free plan. It runs as a cloud service, with legacy on-premises versions still supported for existing customers.

Best for: Global enterprises with large marketing teams and partner budgets.
