About StarUML

StarUML is a desktop modelling app for software engineers. It supports UML 2 diagrams along with ERD, data flow, flowcharts, mind maps, SysML, BPMN, C4, wireframes and cloud architecture diagrams, and can render Mermaid text into diagrams. Models are stored as plain JSON, which makes it easy to generate code or documents with its command-line tools, and open-source extensions add code generation and reverse engineering for Java, C#, C++ and Python. Validation rules run in the background to catch modelling mistakes. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, and pricing is a one-time payment per device, with a cheaper Standard edition and a Pro edition that adds more diagram types, plus volume discounts. You can try it free for 30 days. StarUML is cleaner and cheaper than heavyweight modelling suites, but it has no real-time collaboration and is mostly used by individual developers and students.
