About Visual Paradigm
Visual Paradigm is a heavyweight modelling tool for software engineers, business analysts and enterprise architects. The desktop app covers UML, SysML, ERD, BPMN, ArchiMate, user story mapping and many agile and project management artefacts, with code engineering, round-trip database modelling, document generation and team collaboration through a repository. A separate Visual Paradigm Online product offers browser-based diagramming for general business use, and an AI layer can generate diagrams and documents. The desktop edition is sold in tiers (Modeler, Standard, Professional, Enterprise) as per-seat licences, and a free Community Edition is available for non-commercial use. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. It is very capable, but the interface is crowded and the product range confusing, so it is best for people who need formal modelling notation and traceability rather than quick sketches.
