About Stats

Stats is an open-source system monitor that lives in the macOS menu bar, and it is the usual free alternative to iStat Menus. Each module, covering CPU, GPU, memory, disk, network, battery, sensors (temperature, voltage and power), Bluetooth device batteries and a multi-time-zone clock, can be enabled separately and shown as a graph, bar, number or icon, with a popup for details and top processes. It installs from GitHub releases or Homebrew, updates itself, and supports macOS 12 Monterey and newer, though not beta macOS releases. It is free under the MIT licence. The developer also offers an optional remote module and account service for streaming metrics from Macs to another device. Compared with iStat Menus it has fewer alerts, no weather, and a plainer interface, and the README notes that fan control is no longer maintained, but for keeping an eye on resource use it covers the essentials at no cost.

Best for: Mac users who want free menu bar readouts of CPU, memory, network and temperatures.
