About UpNote

UpNote is a straightforward notes app that aims to be pleasant to use rather than packed with features. Notes are rich text with tables, code blocks, attachments, highlighting and links between notes, organised into nested notebooks, tags, filters and separate spaces. Everything syncs automatically across devices and is available offline, and you can lock notes or the whole app. It runs on Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, with a web version. The free version is limited to 50 notes, so it is really a trial; UpNote Premium removes the cap and is sold as a low monthly subscription or a one-off lifetime purchase, which is rare among synced notes apps. The downsides are that it is a small company with closed-source software, there is no end-to-end encryption, and collaboration is limited to sharing notes rather than editing together. It suits people leaving Evernote who want something similar and affordable.

Best for: Former Evernote users who want simple, synced notes at a low one-off price.
