About Wordtune
Wordtune, from Israeli AI company AI21 Labs, started as a sentence rewriter: highlight a line and it proposes several alternatives, or makes it more casual, more formal, shorter or longer. It has since added a grammar checker, AI drafting, a summariser for articles and videos, and a 'humanize' tool. It runs as Chrome and Edge extensions that work in Gmail, Google Docs and other sites, as a web editor, and on iOS. The free Basic plan allows a small number of rewrites and AI suggestions per day; paid Advanced and Unlimited plans raise or remove those caps, with a short free trial. Its rewrites tend to be more natural than older paraphrasers, which makes it good for emails and short pieces where you know what you want to say but not how. It is less useful as a full proofreader, and support for languages other than English is limited.
Best for: People who know what they want to say and need help phrasing it, mostly in email and docs.
