About XnConvert

XnConvert is a batch image processor from XnSoft, the maker of the XnView viewers. You drop in a folder of pictures, stack up actions such as resize, crop, rotate, colour adjustments, sharpening, watermarks and metadata edits, then export everything to one of about 70 output formats. It reads more than 500 formats, including camera RAW files, HEIC, AVIF, JPEG XL and PSD, which makes it one of the widest-reading free converters around. Action lists can be saved as presets, and a watch-folder option applies a preset automatically whenever new images arrive. Settings can be exported to NConvert for command-line use. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. XnConvert is free for private and educational use, while companies are asked to buy a per-seat licence. The interface packs in a lot of options, so it takes a little longer to learn than single-purpose resizers. It is closed source.

Best for: Photographers and site owners who batch-process large folders with repeatable multi-step edits.
