About Yahoo Search

Yahoo Search is one of the oldest names in web search and is still used by many people through the Yahoo homepage, Yahoo Mail and browser defaults. Its web results are powered largely by Microsoft Bing, wrapped in Yahoo's own pages with news, finance and sports content. In 2026 Yahoo added Yahoo Scout, an AI answer engine in beta that responds in a chat thread with links back to sources and draws on Yahoo's finance and news data. It is free and supported by ads. Yahoo Search works in any browser and through the Yahoo Search app for iOS and Android, with SafeSearch controls for families. It suits people already living in Yahoo's ecosystem, especially for finance. Privacy-focused users tend to avoid it, as it is ad-tracking supported like Google and Bing.

Best for: Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Finance users who want search alongside them.
