About ACKO
ACKO is a Bengaluru-based insurer that sells directly online instead of through agents or branches. Through its app and website you can buy and renew car and bike insurance, health cover for yourself, family or parents, term life insurance and travel insurance, then file and track claims in the same place. Motor policies are quoted in a minute or two from your registration number, and health plans pay hospital bills cashless at a large network of hospitals. Its app also has free extras for anyone, customer or not, such as traffic-fine checks, FASTag alerts and pollution-certificate reminders. Pricing depends on the policy, vehicle and person; there is no subscription. ACKO started in 2016 and is aimed at people comfortable doing everything on their phone, which also means no local agent to help in person. It works on Android, iOS and the web, in India only.
Best for: People in India who want to buy and claim car, bike or health insurance entirely online.
