About AltTab

AltTab replaces the Mac's app switcher with one that works like Windows Alt-Tab: it shows every window, not just every app, including minimised and hidden windows and those on other Spaces, each with a badge telling you where it lives. The selected window can be previewed full size before you switch, and shortcuts, appearance and which windows appear are all configurable. It has been developed in the open since 2018 with frequent releases, has no tracking or telemetry, and runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 12 or later. The core app is free and open source under GPL-3.0, and those features stay free. A paid AltTab Pro option adds window search by title, more display styles, auto-sizing and extra shortcuts, with a 14-day trial; the Pro licence applies to the signed builds the project distributes, while the source can still be built yourself. It is a switcher only: it does not tile, snap or launch apps.

Best for: Mac users coming from Windows who want to switch between individual windows.
