About Archi

Archi is a free, open-source tool for building ArchiMate models, the Open Group's notation for enterprise architecture. It lets architects model business processes, applications, data and technology, create views with the official viewpoints, and check which relationships are valid between elements, with a hints panel explaining each one. A visualiser shows how elements connect across the whole model, and there are sketch and canvas views for informal brainstorming and reusable templates. Plug-ins add scripting (jArchi) and model sharing through Git (coArchi). It is written in Java on the Eclipse platform and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, with a portable Windows build. Archi is widely used by consultants, students and organisations that want ArchiMate without paying for a commercial suite. It does only ArchiMate, without UML, BPMN or a repository server, so larger teams sometimes move on to commercial enterprise architecture tools.
