About Augment Code
Augment Code is an AI coding platform aimed at professional teams working in large, complex codebases. Its context engine indexes your repositories so that its coding agent, chat and code review can draw on code from across the project rather than only open files. It works through extensions for VS Code, JetBrains IDEs and Vim or Neovim, the Auggie CLI for terminal and automation use, and Cosmos, a cloud environment for running agents and workflows. The context engine is also offered on its own through MCP and an SDK, so other agents can use it. Pricing is unusual: rather than charging per seat, plans carry a flat monthly fee with a pool of usage included and up to 50 seats, plus pay-as-you-go top-ups; Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, customer-managed keys and data residency. It holds SOC 2 Type II and does not train on customer code. It suits teams whose main problem is giving AI enough context in big systems.
Best for: Teams with large codebases where AI tools struggle for context.
