About Factory

Factory builds coding agents it calls Droids. They plan, write, review and ship code across a desktop app, the terminal CLI, IDEs and a web interface, and can be handed tasks from tools like Slack, Linear and GitHub. A core idea is model independence: Droids can use models from different labs, so you are not tied to one provider, and Factory adds context from your repositories, docs and tickets. For teams it offers agent-readiness dashboards that score how well a codebase supports agents, usage analytics, managed cloud computers for remote Droids, and on-premises or data-residency options at enterprise level. Pricing is subscription based, with Pro, Plus and Max individual tiers that differ mainly in usage limits, and a Teams plan with a base fee plus per-seat charges. There is no permanent free plan. It suits professional developers and engineering organisations that want a commercial agent without committing to one model vendor.

Best for: Engineering teams that want commercial agents without locking into one model vendor.
