About Beaver Habit Tracker

Beaver Habit Tracker (often called BeaverHabits) is a small open-source habit tracker that runs in any browser, on a desktop or a phone. Its pitch is the absence of goals: rather than setting targets and failing them, you simply mark the days you did something, add notes and categories, and look at the streaks and history. It deliberately stays minimal and aesthetic, with import and export tools and a REST API for people who want to connect it to other things. You can run it yourself from the GitHub repository, for example with Docker, or use the hosted version. The hosted service has a free Basic tier and a Pro tier sold as a one-time lifetime licence that adds unlimited habits, categories and daily backups. It suits self-hosters and people who were put off by goal-heavy apps. As a small project it lacks native mobile apps, health integrations and polished onboarding.

Best for: Self-hosters and minimalists who want to log habits without targets.
