About Blokada

Blokada is a family of privacy apps for phones. Blokada 5, the classic free version for Android, blocks ads, trackers and malware in every app and browser without root or jailbreak, using a local VPN-style tunnel that does not break encryption; it is free and open source. Blokada 6 moves blocking to the cloud through encrypted private DNS, so it uses no battery, works across multiple devices and is managed from a web dashboard, and it is the version offered on iOS. Blokada Plus adds a WireGuard VPN for up to five devices with no activity logging, and Blokada Family focuses on parental controls. The newer cloud and VPN products are paid subscriptions. It suits Android users wanting a free system-wide blocker, and families who want simple controls. DNS-based blocking can't stop ads served from the same domain as content.

Best for: Android users who want free system-wide blocking without root.
