About Collabora Online

Collabora Online brings the LibreOffice engine to the browser so teams can co-edit documents, spreadsheets and presentations in real time while keeping files on infrastructure they control. It is usually deployed alongside a file platform such as Nextcloud, ownCloud, Seafile or Moodle, either on-premises or through a hosting partner, and it scales on Kubernetes. Collabora, the company behind it, is one of the main contributors to LibreOffice, and it also ships Collabora Office desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux plus mobile apps for iOS, Android and Chromebooks. A free Development Edition (CODE) with rolling updates is offered for home use and testing, while businesses pay a per-user subscription for long-term support releases, security updates and SLAs. It appeals to public-sector and European organisations focused on digital sovereignty. Compared with ONLYOFFICE it favours the ODF format, and its interface, while modernised, still feels closer to LibreOffice than to Microsoft 365.

Best for: Organisations that want self-hosted, real-time document editing with their own data control.
