About CommaFeed
CommaFeed is an open-source, self-hosted personal RSS reader modelled on Google Reader's layout and workflow. It offers a familiar folder tree, expanded and list views, keyboard shortcuts, starred items and OPML import and export, and it implements the Fever and Google Reader APIs so native mobile apps can sync with it. It is written in Java and ships as a single package or a Docker image, with support for H2, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MariaDB databases, and native builds that start quickly with low memory use. A free public instance at commafeed.com lets you try it before hosting your own. CommaFeed is free under the Apache 2.0 licence and maintained on GitHub by a small group led by its original developer. It covers the essentials well but has fewer extensions than FreshRSS, no official mobile apps and no hosted service, so you will need a server or home lab to run it.
Best for: Former Google Reader users who want a familiar reader on their own server.
