About Concourse

Concourse is an open-source automation system for CI/CD with a distinctive, minimal model. Pipelines are declared in YAML as resources, such as Git repos, container images or S3 buckets, plus tasks that run in containers and jobs that connect them, and the web UI draws the whole pipeline as a live graph. Every task runs in a fresh container, so builds are reproducible and there is no hidden state on workers, and the fly CLI lets you run a task against local code before pushing. It is well suited to teams that like explicit, versioned pipeline definitions and a strict separation between configuration and workers. The model takes adjustment for people used to GitHub Actions or Jenkins, the community is smaller than it was during its Pivotal and VMware years, and there is no hosted service. It is free under the Apache 2.0 licence and runs on Linux, with workers on Linux, Windows and macOS.

Best for: Teams that want reproducible, explicitly declared pipelines on self-hosted workers.
