About Folo

Folo, formerly known as Follow, is an RSS reader from the RSSNext team that pairs a modern timeline with AI tools. You subscribe to feeds and to sources made available through RSSHub, which turns sites such as X, YouTube, Telegram, GitHub and many Chinese platforms into feeds, then read them in lists and timelines. AI features summarise timelines and articles, translate content and read it aloud, and higher plans let you choose models or bring your own API key. Inboxes, lists and actions organise and automate what arrives. The client code is open source under the AGPL on GitHub. A free plan covers 150 feed subscriptions with a few AI summaries a day, and paid Basic, Plus and Pro plans, billed monthly or yearly, raise the limits. It runs on the web with desktop and mobile apps. It suits readers who follow fast-moving sources and want help digesting them, though the heavy AI focus and limits on the free plan won't suit everyone.

Best for: Readers who follow many fast-moving sources and want AI summaries and translation.

Pros and cons

What works

  • AI summaries, translation and text-to-speech
  • RSSHub integration turns many sites into feeds
  • Open-source client code
  • Free plan with 150 subscriptions

Why people leave

  • Free plan allows only a few AI summaries a day
  • AI-heavy design can feel busy for plain reading
  • Hosted service; the open code doesn't make it self-hostable
