About Gitnuro
Gitnuro is a free and open-source Git client written in Kotlin with JetBrains' Compose UI toolkit and the JGit library, so it runs on the JVM rather than a browser engine. It aims to be usable for newcomers and professionals alike: a log with a branch graph, staging by file or line, commit amend, branches, tags, stashes, rebase and merge, cherry-pick, submodules and conflict handling, with custom themes. It gives the same experience on macOS, Linux and Windows; on Linux it is distributed through Flathub. The project emphasises privacy and states that it does not track you or your projects in any way. It is licensed under the GPL-3.0 and is free for personal and commercial use with no limits. As a one-developer project its feature set is narrower than commercial clients, and the JVM adds some memory overhead, but it is a tidy, trustworthy option for anyone who wants a free GUI without an account.
Best for: People who want a clean, free, private Git GUI on any desktop.
