About SourceGit

SourceGit is an open-source Git client built with .NET and the Avalonia UI framework, so the same app runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. It has grown quickly into one of the more complete free clients: a visual commit graph, clone, fetch, pull and push, merge, rebase, reset, revert and cherry-pick, amend, reword and squash, interactive rebase, worktrees, submodules, Git-flow, Git LFS, bisect, blame, file histories, branch and revision diffs, and image diffs in side-by-side, swipe and blend modes. It can open pull requests on GitHub, GitLab and Gitea, link issue numbers to trackers, and use an AI model of your choice to draft commit messages. The interface is translated into many languages and supports custom themes. It is free under the MIT licence with no paid tier or account. As a younger community project it has less documentation than commercial clients and frequent updates, but it is a strong free option for anyone on Linux or tired of subscriptions.

Best for: Anyone who wants a full-featured, free Git GUI on any desktop OS.
