About Gittyup
Gittyup is a graphical Git client built to help you understand and manage a repository's history. It is a community continuation of GitAhead, a client whose original developers stopped active development, and keeps its fast, clean design: a commit list with a graph, a diff view with line-level staging, blame inside the file view, a searchable index of commits, and tools for branches, tags, stashes and submodules. It is written in C++ with Qt, so it feels quick and does not depend on a browser engine. It is free and open source under the MIT licence, available as a Flatpak on Linux and as binaries for Windows and macOS. Development is volunteer-driven and releases are irregular, so some rough edges remain. It is a good choice for anyone who liked GitAhead or wants a light, free, history-focused GUI on Linux.
Best for: Former GitAhead users and Linux users wanting a light, history-focused GUI.
