Google Jamboard has been discontinued. Google ended Jamboard in 2024: since October 1, 2024 Jams can no longer be created or edited, and the device is end of life.
About Google Jamboard
Jamboard was Google's digital whiteboard, made up of a 55-inch touchscreen device for meeting rooms and companion web and mobile apps that let people collaborate on Jams, simple boards of sticky notes, drawings and images tied to Google Workspace. It was popular in schools during remote learning because it was free with Google accounts and very easy to use. Google wound the product down in 2024: new licence sales ended at the end of September 2024, the hardware reached end of life and switched to an unlicensed mode on October 1, 2024, and from that date users could no longer create or modify Jams in the web and mobile apps. Existing Jams were converted to PDFs for people to keep. People still search for Jamboard because many schools and teams relied on it. Natural replacements include FigJam, Miro and Lucidspark for teams, and free classroom tools for schools.
Best for: No one for new work; listed so former users can find replacements.
