About Khoj
Khoj is an open-source personal AI assistant that answers questions using your own notes and documents as well as the web. You can point it at PDFs, Markdown, plain text, org-mode files and Notion pages, then chat with it or search them in natural language, and it can build custom agents and run scheduled automations such as research summaries. It is reachable from a web browser, a desktop app, Emacs, Obsidian and WhatsApp, which makes it appealing to note-takers who already live in those tools. You can use the Khoj Cloud service or self-host it on your own hardware for privacy, with local or cloud models. The small team behind it has since launched other products, including a research reader and a desktop co-worker called Pipali, so Khoj gets less attention than before. The open-source version is free to self-host, and Khoj also runs a hosted cloud version.
