About Chatbox

Chatbox is a desktop, mobile and web chat client for AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, DeepSeek and others, as well as local models. You can either plug in your own API keys or buy one of Chatbox's plans, which give compute points to use across models without setting up accounts with each provider. It includes file and image chat, web search, a local knowledge base for your documents, image generation and a Work Mode for agent-style tasks, and keeps your data stored locally on your device. A community edition of the app is open source on GitHub. It suits people who want a single, lightweight app on every device and like the option of low-cost plans. The paid plans use a points system that makes costs per model less transparent, and some advanced features sit behind the higher tiers. There is a free plan for light use. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android and the web.

Best for: People who want one lightweight multi-model chat app on every device.
