About AnythingLLM

AnythingLLM, from Mintplex Labs, is an all-in-one AI app built around chatting with your own documents. You create workspaces, drop in files, websites or other sources, and it handles embedding and retrieval so you can ask questions grounded in that material, using a built-in local model or connecting to Ollama, LM Studio or cloud providers. It also has agents with tools such as web browsing, a meeting assistant, embeddable chat widgets and an API. The desktop app runs privately on your computer with no account needed, the Docker version adds multi-user support, and a hosted cloud plan suits teams that don't want to run servers. There is also an Android app. The desktop and self-hosted versions are free and open source under the MIT licence; hosted cloud instances cost a monthly fee. Retrieval quality depends on the models and settings you choose. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.

Best for: People and small teams who want private chat over their own documents.
