About LinkedIn
LinkedIn is the default social network for professional life. Your profile works as a public CV, and you connect with colleagues, follow companies and thought leaders, post updates and articles, and join industry groups. It is also a major job board and recruiting platform, and a key channel for B2B marketing and sales prospecting. Basic use is free; LinkedIn Premium subscriptions add features such as seeing who viewed your profile, InMail messages to people outside your network, AI-assisted job and profile tools and learning courses, while Sales Navigator and Recruiter are sold separately to businesses. It is owned by Microsoft and runs on the web, Android and iPhone. With more than a billion members it is hard to avoid for job hunting and hiring, but the feed is crowded with self-promotion and engagement bait, and it is far less useful for personal or casual social life.
Best for: Job seekers, recruiters and professionals building a business network.
