About Malwarebytes Browser Guard

Browser Guard is Malwarebytes' free browser extension. Alongside removing ads and blocking trackers and cookie banners, it focuses on security: it blocks known scam and phishing pages, malware and ransomware sites, credit-card skimmers, search hijackers and suspicious downloads, using Malwarebytes' threat intelligence. It is available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari. The free version covers ad and tracker blocking and core protection; extras such as advanced phishing heuristics, clipboard protection and data-breach notifications come with a paid Malwarebytes plan. It is a sensible pick for less technical users or family computers, where scam protection matters as much as hiding ads. Content blocking is less configurable than uBlock Origin, and the security features overlap with what browsers and antivirus suites already provide.

Best for: Less technical users who want ad blocking plus scam and phishing protection.
