About Medal
Medal is a game recording and clipping app for PC gamers. Instead of recording whole sessions, it keeps a rolling buffer and saves the last few seconds or minutes when you press a hotkey, and it can clip automatically in supported games when something notable happens. Clips open in a simple editor, game, microphone and Discord audio can sit on separate tracks, and clips can be shared on Medal's own social feed or to other platforms, or watched in Medal's mobile apps. Recording and sharing are free, and a Medal Premium subscription adds extras. The desktop recorder runs on Windows, and there are companion apps for iOS and Android. It is focused on games, so it is not the right tool for tutorials or work recordings, and its social features and promotions are a big part of the experience. Gamers who mostly want shareable highlights find it easier than setting up OBS replay buffers.
Best for: PC gamers who want instant highlight clips and easy sharing.
