About Screenity

Screenity started as a free, open-source Chrome extension for recording a tab, window or the whole screen with your camera, and it is still free and GPL-licensed with no time limits or watermarks. Recording features include drawing and annotation on screen, blurring sensitive content, click highlighting and a local editor for trimming and cropping. The project has since added a hosted product: an in-browser editor that builds videos from scenes with automatic zooms, text and music, and share links that anyone can open. That service is a single paid plan with a free trial, and its selling point is privacy, with storage and processing hosted in Europe rather than the US. Because it lives in the browser it works on any desktop that runs Chrome, including Chromebooks, but it cannot match native apps for system audio handling and high-frame-rate capture. It is a good pick for privacy-conscious users and teams.

Best for: Privacy-minded users who want a free Chrome recorder without limits.
