About Diagrams (mingrammer)

Diagrams is a popular open-source Python library that lets you describe a cloud system architecture in a few lines of Python and render it as an image with the right provider icons. It ships node sets for AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Alibaba Cloud, Oracle Cloud and others, plus on-premises software, SaaS products and programming languages, and uses Graphviz to lay the diagram out. Because the diagram is code, you can keep it in the repository, review changes and regenerate it in CI. It is MIT licensed and free. The library only draws: it does not read your actual cloud accounts, so it documents a design rather than discovering one, and fine-tuning layout means working around Graphviz. You also need Python and Graphviz installed, which makes it a tool for developers rather than for the wider team.

Best for: Developers documenting cloud architecture as code in Python.
