About Mintlify

Mintlify is a hosted platform for developer and product documentation. Docs are written in MDX files in a Git repository, or in a web editor that commits changes back, and Mintlify builds and hosts a fast, good-looking site with search, an interactive API playground generated from OpenAPI specs, and a custom domain. It has leaned hard into AI: published docs get an AI assistant for readers, an MCP server and llms.txt so AI agents can read them, and a writing agent that drafts updates. Many developer-tool and AI companies use it for their public docs. The free Starter plan covers individuals and small teams with a handful of editor seats, while the Pro plan, priced per month rather than per seat, unlocks unlimited editors, analytics and AI credits, with custom Enterprise pricing for self-hosting and EU hosting. It is browser-based with a local CLI for previews. Non-technical writers may find the Git-centric workflow less comfortable than a classic knowledge base.

Best for: Developer-tool and API companies that keep docs in Git and want an AI-ready docs site.
