About Docmost

Docmost is a newer open-source wiki and documentation tool designed to be self-hosted, including in air-gapped networks. It has a block editor with slash commands, Markdown shortcuts and live cursors for real-time co-editing, plus spaces for teams, nested pages, comments, page history and full-text search. Diagrams can be drawn with draw.io, Excalidraw or Mermaid, and newer versions add bases (simple databases) and kanban views. Importers handle Notion and Confluence exports, which is a big part of its appeal for teams leaving Atlassian's Data Center products. The free Community edition is open source and covers the core editor and collaboration; a paid Business licence per seat adds SSO, API keys, AI features with self-hosted or cloud models, an MCP server, attachment search and other enterprise controls. It installs with Docker. Being young, it has a smaller plugin and integration ecosystem than established wikis, but development is moving quickly.

Best for: Teams that want a modern, self-hosted Confluence or Notion replacement.
