About Opera Neon
Opera Neon is an agentic browser from Opera, sold as a subscription. Where regular Opera adds an AI chat to a normal browser, Neon is designed around AI that acts for you: it can fill in forms, compare products, research topics across tabs and build small outputs such as summaries or simple web pages, using a choice of large language models. Tasks can be organised into workspaces, and it can be driven by developer tools through MCP or a command-line interface. It still includes the standard browsing basics and Opera's free VPN and ad blocker, which work without the subscription. The agent features are the point, though, and they require the paid plan. As with other agent browsers, letting software click and type on websites raises security and accuracy questions you should weigh. It is available on Windows and macOS. It suits early adopters who want to hand repetitive web tasks to an AI and are willing to pay for it.
Best for: Early adopters who want an AI agent to handle repetitive web tasks.
